March 5 was the target date. My Haplo grouping is Q3a and my grandfather is said to have Cherokee Blood lines. I am having trouble locating my Great Grandfather for none of my family know anything about my grandfathers parents. I was born in the 1930's and never knew my grandparents as they died before 1929 and of coarse my parents didn't talk about their parents very often and like you we had no proof of this heirtage. My grandfather was born 1854 I hope to have better luck with the 37 marker testing for I found others that matched with the 12 marker test but too far away generationally. I got into this YDNA testing to prove my Indian connection thru family tree but so far no luck. I'm glad that you explained that the Q3 was a connection to Indian heirtage. I have not had this confirmed by the testors how do I go about that. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am seeking help finding the parents of Mary Emma Woodall b.1858 in Vigo county; d.1854 KS and her sister (half) Nancy Jane Woodall b.1857 IN; d.1919 MO. 1860 Federal Census-Indiana-Vigo-SugarCreek Woodall, William w m 23 farmer IN Martha w f 22 KY Nancy w f 3 IN Mary w f 1 IN Wm. b.abt 1834 In; d.bef 1870 IN m.15 Sep 1855 in Vigo to Martha (TYE) b.abt 1837 KY; d.1890 MO After Wm died, Martha took both girls to MO (abt 1862), and remarried to Henry Johnson 1870 Federal Census-Missouri-Sullivan-Duncan Wm's parents - John Milton Woodall/Margaret Ping Martha's parents - George Washington Tye / Anna Owens There is much confusion as to the parentage of Mary Emma Woodall. According to Leona and Joleen, her parents are John Thomas WOODALL, Sr b.1835 in Indiana; d.1862-63 m.1st to Betsy Bray m.2nd to Martha WRIGHT b.1837; d.7 Apr 1890 in Sullivan county, MO; bur. Warren Cemetery Sullivan county, Missouri children with Betsy Bray: Nancy Alice WOODALL children with Martha WRIGHT 1.Emma Mary WOODALL b. 23 Aug 1858; d.13 May 1954; bur Green Lawn Cemetery Clay Center, Clay, Kansas 2.John Thomas WOODALL, Jr. b.1859 m. Leona The strange thing about this is that the details for John pretty much match those of Wm the approx bd and both died before 1870. The details for Martha WRIGHT match those of Martha TYE. Both families show Martha with a daughter named Nancy Alice and both show Martha being married to Henry Johnson and dying in Sullivan county, MO before 1880. I have searched but cannot find any John, Thomas, or John Thomas that is the about the right age and with the right family either the Sr. or the Jr. John T Jr. is not on either the 1860 or the 1870 census with Mary E. Now assuming that I have the incorrect parents (Wm & Martha Tye) for Nancy and Mary in 1860, why is he not with his sisters in the 1870 census with step-father Henry Johnson? The William I show does have a younger brother named John, but I have not been able to locate him after he left home so no idea who he married or what his childrens names are, but do know that he was still living at home in 1860 so could not have been this Nancy and Mary E.'s father, but could he have married a Martha WRIGHT and maybe that is where the confusion comes in??? In 1860 Federal Census-Indiana-Vigo-SugarCreek William & Martha are living next door to his mother Margaret and on the other side of Margaret is a Bray family. I have not been able to find any additional info on Betsy though! To add more to the confusion, Mary E.'s sister Nancy Ann was located in the Missouri Death Records. It shows her parents as John Woodeff b.IN & Betzy Bray b.IN. This Nancy is most likely the same as the Nancy whose step father was Henry Johnson, but not 100% positive. I have also located the death information (7 Apr 1890, Sullivan county, MO) for Martha Woodall Johnson and it shows she lived in MO for 28 years, was born in Kentucky. On the 1860, 1870, 1880 census all show she was b.KY. In 1860, she was married to Wm. Woodall (marriage record - her maiden name was TYE) So 99% probability this Martha married to Henry Johnson was Martha Tye. So who is Martha Wright? Bigger question still is how did Nancy come to live with Wm and Martha if Wm is not her father?? Are John and William related? These 2 families are obviously intertwined somehow. Am wondering if Nancy and Emma were not the children of Wm & Martha, but just living with them cause their parents died or something??? And what happened to the boy?? If that is the case, then would bet that John and Wm are related somehow, but how?? And is it just coincidence that both men and both women had similar and in some cases same birth and death dates? Any help or additional information to help solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated!! He is probably mortally wounded. A misunderstanding among the young men over a girl caused the trouble. Woodall started to escort the young lady home from a dance, when Perrin and Bailey resisted and a fight ensued. It is charged that Bailey and Perrin attacked Woodall and one of them slipped up behind him and cut his throat. Deputy Marshal J. E. Dibble arrested Perrin and Bailey and brought them here before Commissioner Stanfield who committed them to jail. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
