    3. Hi All, I have a stuffed (MAC) file for Clarisworks on all the Wolverton anscestors that have been floating around the list for the past two months. I'd be happy to share that and the URL for downloading an ustuff program for those with a play computer. I'd also be happy to share a GEDCOM with whoever would like it; all I need is to know what computer and program you use so I can format it. The info will be useful for leads and for what is currently being used as a genealogy. Any corrections and additions would be wonderful. 3. Hi Mary, The address you requested is: Thomas A. Woolverton 493 Osprey Court Sunset Beach, NC 28468-4500 May have mentioned before that Thomas descends from Charles to Joel to Andrew to William Robert to William Green to Oscar Lee to Walter Allen. Another person who has been helpful to me is: James A. McCafferty 613 Rosier Road Ft. Washington, MD 20744-5554 JIRMA@AOL.COM (this is exactly the way it's listed on his letterhead...all Capital letters, but I have never heard from him by Email). He descends from Charles to Isaac to John to Mary (who married Isaac Sharp). Another source is Anna V. Smith, P. O. Box 399, Guthrie, OK 73044-0399 whose husband descended from Charles to Joel and on down the line. She is a very nice lady and has a vast amount of information. David A. Macdonald of Bethlehem, PA mentioned to me in a letter dated May 1997 that a book of Wolverton/Woolverton genealogy was being edited for publication at that time. Does anyone have any idea that this book is available? I may be repeating myself (or overlapping something that someone else has said), but will put it down anyway. Would rather repeat than not mention it at all. I know Ginny has a lot of information on the Pettit connection. This has to do with Thomas, son of Charles (1). Information states that Thomas Woolverton was born on 17 May 1717, Woolverton Bible. He married Mary Pettit, daughter of Nathaniel Pettit and Elizabeth Heath. Thomas's sister Dinah had married Andrew Pettit and Thomas's brother Dennis had married Andrew's sister, Elizabeth Pettit, both being children of Nathaniel Pettit and Elizabeth Heath. Hope this helps. Onoldah Rone oronem@juno.com On Mon, 28 Jul 1997 09:39:36 -0500 "Mary L. I would like to write to him, to see if he might know more about Isaac 2. So far I haven't gotten much on Isaac 2, son of Charles 1. Maybe someone else out there has more info on Isaac 2? Onoldah, if you have Thomas A. Wolverton's address, I would be grateful to you, if you would send it. Thanks, Mary mlw@skyenet.net

    3. Hi Group, Has anyone done any research on the Wolverton's in Northampton Co. PA? I am looking at a time period from 1740 to 1785. If you have info in the Wolverton'sduring that time there, please let me know. That would be Lehigh Co. now, near Bethlehem. I have a Jonathan that bought land there in 1785, and I think they must have gone there even eariler than that. Thanks, Mary mlw@skynet.net

Her granddaughter, Osie Ann FOY, was named for her. My own mother was named Osie Foy DANIELS, for her grandmother. We always wondered where the name came from. Sure we knew it was my mother's grandmother, but where did she get that name? It was only two years ago I found this family, and my mother lived long enough to learn abt it, too. She passed away last Sept at age 96! A lifelong mystery solved! I can put up my ancestry again, if anyone would like to see that. Joyce Franke

    3. Hi Diane, My ancestor, Charles WOLVERTON, and his wife, Mary DRAKE, came to Northumberland Co. PA around 1800 or perhaps a little bef. Some of their children came, also. Osila (or var) came, and married Samuel FOY, who had also come from Hunterdon Co., NJ. I can give you the name and addr of the man who has done a lot of work on genealogy, writing books, reading tombstones in many cemeteries, etc. I'm sure he will be happy to answer any questions, direct you to the right place. His cem readings are on fiche at LDS FHCs. I have seen them and there are lots of them. He sent me charts on various surnames of interest to me. He may charge a small fee for his charts. They are hand written. Here is his addr: Dr. Joseph A. Meiser, Jr. Publisher 5 West Center St., Box 88 Elysburg PA 17824-0088 (phone 717-672-2737) Publications from Northumberland Co. Hist Soc. I found him when I joined the Northumberland Co., PA, Historical Society. The pages they send out on their publications include many by him. There are also land recs available on microfilm from LDS. Some are in the Mesa AZ FHC, but not all. They can be ordered, of course. I found lots on WOOLVERTON/WOLVERTON in the ones available there now. Our family was prominent in land sales and purchases, that's for sure! Lots of good genealogical stuff, too, I'm sure, if you get the actual record. Yes, there are wills, I have a will book. The census has not been so helpful, as my particular family, Samuel and Osie, seem to have eluded the census taker religiously! I doubt if any of this is on Inet. That would be too easy, wouldn't it? ;))) > Laterly I've noticed a great many people mentioning this county in relation > to the Wolverton/Woolverton line. I show a Hannah b 1840, great granddaughter of Charles and Mary DRAKE WOLVERTON. I do not have a spouse's name for her. 1. The Missing Pettit
    2. V CORE
    3. Dear Group, This is what I have found: Dinah Wolverton (2) daughter of Charles and Mary Wolverton b. 26 Mar 1711 in Hunterdon Co., NJ She married twice: First (I think) she married: Andrew Pettit, perhaps the son of Nathaniel Pettit and Elizabeth Heath. He was born 1716 probably in Sussex NJ. Dinah had two children: 1. Nathaniel Pettit b 1740 Amwell, NJ and 2. Elizabeth Pettit b abt 1742 Amwell. Len Campbell suggested that the Mary Pettit that married Thomas (2) Wolverton could be the fourth generation daughter of Nathaniel Pettit and Elizabeth Heath and the Aunt of both Elizabeth Pettit Wolverton (married Dennis (2) and Andrew Pettit. This may be clear as mud. I found the missing Andrew in Van Wolvertons family tree...so Van if you are out there, talk to us! We sure need a relative of Thomas, Dinah, or Dennis Wolverton to see if it agrees with information that they may have. These aren't in my line so I don't have much. HELP someone! M.L. > Wolverton mlw@skyenet.net Hi Mary, Yes I have a copy of that book here...actually he wrote two books or updated the first one. A bunch of literary BS in the front part (like a history lesson) and then answers from many Wolvertons that he wrote to asking for information on their family trees. It was disappointing except that it gives you names and dates to work with. I could send it to you if you want to see it...or copy it. I do want it back. I also have a copy of the Ten Brok book. Let me know, I'll be glad to send it. Ginny I just this moment found the Pettit male...married second to Dinah (2) dau. of Charles (1). I write about that later.

They had: Charles P. , Elizabeth, John Now some people have this: Thomas (2) b 1717 m. Mary Pettit b 1720 (she is the one we haven't connected yet) 1. John W. Wolverton b 1740 m Hannah Rose Rachel b 1767 m. Timothy Ross Margaret W. b 1772 m. George Taylor Hannah b 1777 m. Stephen Crowin John (2) m 2. 3. Ginny, I think Abigail Herrin should be in the line, Charles 1, Isaac 2 born 1706. Abigail Herrin and Isaac 2 were baptised in Baptistown, NJ 12 of June 1731. Listed source, from the Kingwood Baptist Church , NJ Record Book 1742-1824. Abigail was deceased by 1749. Also she was mentioned in her father's will, Isaac Herrin Apr. 7, 1756, of Hopewell,Hunterdon Co. NJ. The will states that Isaac Wolverton's three children "that were born of the body of my daughter Abigail," This info is in the Calendar of Wills--1751-1760.New Jersey Colonial Ducuments. Also I have a copy of the will from NJSA New Jersey State Archives. I just want Abigail to get in the right generation and married to the right Isaac! This was before Steven 1751 and Ratchel 1754 were born, Which leaves me to believe that Isaac b. 1706 had a second wife after Abigail's death. The second wife being the mother of Steven W. and Rachel Wolverton Furman. I know some won't like this line of reasoning. Sorry. Mary L. Wolverton mlw@skyenet.net
