Ruff Georgia, Elbert County This indenture made this the ninth of December eighteen Hundred and Seventy Six between Elam Alexander, Caroline Wolf, Judy Alexander, Lucy Alexander, Isaac Alexander and mary Kilgroe, heirs of Eliam Alexander of the part and J. C. Ruff of the other part(of the above parties Eliam Alexander, R.P. Partain, Caroline Wolf and Lucy Alexander and Judy Alexander live in Wilkes County Mary Kilgore and J.C.Ruff in Elbert County) Witnesseth that the said Elam Alexander R.P.Partain Caroline Wolf Judy Alexander Lucy Alexander Isaac Alexander and Mary Kilgore for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold and to by thses presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said J.C. Ruff his heirs and assigns all that tract of parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Elbert, on the waters of Cold Water Creek, adjoining lands of J.B. Turner, W.J.Gaines and John M. Broadwell containing fifty acres more or less. To have and to hold the above named lot of land together with all the members rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the J.C.Ruff his heirsown proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple And the said Elam Alexander, R.P.Partain Lucy Alexander Isaac Alexander and Mary Kilgore, for themselves their heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained premises together with the rights, title and possession there of unto him the said J.C.Ruff, his heirs and assignswill warant and defend against the claims of themselves and all other persons whatever.
