It seems many are after info on George and/or Philip Wolfe in the late 1700's. I have been in touch with Steven Wolfe on this. Here is what I have--strickly from the ICI files out of the local Family History Center. George Wolf(e) , born 4 April 1781 to Philip and Mrs. Margaret Wolfe in Bedford Co.,Bedford TWP.,PA. [ Notice that Philip may have married a Mrs. Margaret Wolfe--she had been married to another Wolfe apparently]. George married Rebecca Simpson and they had children--including one Calven, born 13 Feb. 1805 (somewhere). Philip and Mrs Margaret had at least 6 children, all born in Bedford/ Co.,PA. I have identified the following: George-1781. John and Rebecca born 1785, Mary born Abt 1788, Joseph born Abt. 1792 and James born 1797. You all may want to examine whether this Philip is the Philip Jacob born 19 May, 1756 in Bucks Co.,PA. to Philip Jacob and Christine. Steven is right, there are amny Georges and Philips; so many from Pa. and to there from VA. or WVA. Now , for my search. I am looking for details on one Mr. Wolfe who married Martha Clifton [ could have been in N.C. or Tenn. or points between ]. They had a son Iraneous on 24 May, 1825 in Nashville,TN. and a daughter born in Apr. 1830, Wayne(s)town , Montgomery Co. IN. I have rather good information on the children of Iraneous and Margaret Switzer [ they were married 2 Aug. 1848 in Montgomery Co., IN.]. I don't know of any siblings of "Mr." Wolfe, but have fair information on Martha Clifton's family. Would appreciate any help I can get.!!! Harve Wolfe HWLobo@aol.com
