Hey, Mike, how does that guy know if your info affects him or not UNTIL he has read it. I get lots of stuff that doesn't tie in with mine, but it will help someone else - and that may link to someone else... and then loop back to where it connects to me after all. If we all had precisely the same ancestors, we wouldn't be doing this. Didn't that guy's ancestors come from SOMEWHERE? If not, he's all Native American and doesn't belong on the Wolf list. I've had lots of help via various lists (along with recipes and philsophy I could do without), but I say share whatever you have, help somebody in the process, and damn the topedos! I've never replied in any "improper" manner to anyone, but I think your protestor is off-base. Genealogy is what this is about! I probably can't read your GEDCOM with my limited no-how and software, but I certainly would like to!

Instead, just give enough information to let us know which your connection is, then if we want more information, we will contact you. Gedcoms create long messages. If it is okay with the rest of the subscribers of this Mailing list, I will post my Wolfe Gedcom which is limited only to those who lived in Germany back to ca. 1680's. Unlike most here who have American Wolf lines. Maybe we can connect some lines. As far as I know, none of my Wolfs came to America after 1890. before that I just don't know. One did become a nun and was the Sister Superior at Mercy Hospital on L.I. when it first opened. But I did see one person complain that he didn't want any posts, that didn't affect him specifically. Dear Frank, I can't help you on Wolf line - mine is much earlier in PA. However, I'm curious about "Byrd"! I have a John Byrd George bc1811 in TN. Several of us are working on his line and that of his siblings. We think "Byrd" may have been a surname connection. If you've researched Byrd line, do you have ANY links therein to GEORGE surname? Ray- My 6 g-grandfather was Stephan Wolf born ??? in Fechenbach, Bavaria. He died in Eichelsbach , Bavaria on 15/03/1753. He had 8 children Johann Peter (Peter they all had Johann as a first name) b. 14/01/1703 & Anton b.3/01/1729 . It is possible that Stephan Wolf had siblings which I haven't researched and named his children in a similar manner. Maybe we can combine forces. Hi to Anyone who may be able to help me: I am presently starting to research my wifes fathers family. Her grandfather was Albert Wolf. He was born in Quincy, IL in Oct 1880(?) Alberts father was Henry Wolf who married Anna Lutkenhoetter. He was born in Warsaw, IL. Alberts father was Fried or Fredrick Wolf who married Frederika Goot. They were supposedly born in Prussia. Hi Everyone, In my search for my relative Barnhard/Barnhart/ Bernard/ Wolfe, the following information was sent to me. The baptism took place in the Berlin, now Waterloo area of Ontario, Canada. It is a baptism for Elisabetha Wolff, Sept. 1 1833, daughter of Peter and Margaretha Schmidt, with godfather Bernhard Wolff Junr and godmothers Elisabetha Schmidt Senr and Junr. Does anyone have any info on this Elisabetha Wolff or her parents Peter and Margaretha Schmidt? I'm hoping that the witness, Bernhard (my relative??) was related to Peter. Hello, fellow Wolf(e) researchers. I hope someone can help me in my search. I am a lineal descendant of Charles WOLF, who was born in 1839 in Stolpe, Prussia. He came to the U.S. in about 1861 as a merchant sailor, enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Civil War. After his discharge in 1863, he ended up in Holland, Michigan. In Dec. 1863, he enlisted in the Michigan Volunteer Infantry and served with them in the Civil War, too! In 1866, he married in Holland, MI to Sarah Ann BROWN, daughter of John BROWN (b. PA) and Sarah HART (b. NY). John and Ann BROWN are supposed to have moved to the Holland, MI area from around Harrisburg, PA (date unknown). Charles WOLF and Sarah BROWN had 3 sons: Fred John (my grandfather); Charles; and George. Fred WOLF moved to Montana about 1909. Charles and George remained in Michigan, and many of their descendants still live in the Scottville/Ludington area. Because Charles Wolf did not come to America as a passenger, there is no record of him in "Germans to America". I have no information about his family back in Prussia -- his parents' names, whether or not he had siblings, etc. His German given name may have not been Charles - perhaps it was changed from Carl or another name, since "Charles" is not a common given name in Germany. Hello everyone, I am trying to find out any information on George and Anna Wolf and family. They were born in Illinois, probably Chicago - not sure though, George in 1883 and Anna in 1888. Anna's maiden name was Stollenworth(need information on this last name to). They lived in Chicago and as far as I know had two children. The first child I don't know anything about. The second is my grandfather and his birth name was Harold Wolf. His parents, George and Anna, were separated at the time of his birth (12/27/1918) and his Anna was in Milwaukee, I guess staying with friends. After she had the baby, from what I can gather two days, she gave him (Harold) to a family by the name of Sishler (not sure of the spelling). The Sishlers later changed their name to Shattler, didn't sound as German, and thus Harold Wolf became Howard Shattler. From what my grandmother says the name was never legally changed, and that after my grandmother and he were divorced he might have went back to using Harold Wolf again. Well I don't know much more than that except that Harold Wolf or Howard Shattler died in again from what I can gather San Diego, California. Thanks for the Help...........
