Hi, Yes, you have several AOL members who share this line of Peter, Samuel, and so on. I having been working on this line for about 14 yrs in my spare time and have a partner who has been working on it for about 30 yrs. There is a book coming out by Icia Wolfe from Branson, Missouri in the year 2000. Here goes you have JSbulldog, CADD Room, and Angeluss with whom I communicate with on a regular basis. Plus, according to Angeluss there is abt 3 or four more atleast online she talks too.I look forward to recieving these pages from you and ask you a question. Samuel is my 3rd ggfather. I can't find the copies from a book on Preston County that states his father was a brother to Jacob, George, Clarisa and Augustine. Supposedly "Samuels father was killed on the banks of a creek while exploring with a Wetzel." His name unknown. I'll look for the copies this weekend and post the info with the name etc. of the book. If I am not remembering this info correctly, please tell me! His son Augustine abt 1811 d. 1897 m. Sarah Massee William Wolfe b. Dec 1840 d. Mar 11, 1929 m. Mary C. That he is definitely close related, there is no doubt. From available information, it would seem that he was a nephew of George, Jacob and Augustine as listed on Page 1. If this be true, the he would have to be a son of John or the daugher of Clarissa. From the absence of any records concerning his birth, and the ambiguous mention of his parentage, it would seem reasonable to assume that he was the illegitimate son of the remaining sister, Clarissa. Tradition handed down seems to bear this contention out. His wife was a sister to three of the spouses of Jacob's heirs, and jwould supposedly be about their ages. If in the future, his true identity is established, his lineage may be incorporated in this genealogy, as is, or may be easily removed and listed separately. Any person in this genealogy having the code beginning wit the lettters AD would belong to the family of this Samuel Wolfe. The similarity of this family to that of Jacob, as given by King: George;Jacob; Augustine; Clarissa, and John. Was this Jacob married more than once and we have the parts of two families? Is anyone researching the Wolfs of York County, Pennsylvania? Specifically, Peter Wolf, b. 14 May 1757, married to Elizabeth Groff/Graff/Grove in York County, July 9, 1780. As close as I can come, they had 11 children, including a daughter, Mary born 29 October 1789 from whom I descend. Evidentally, there were 3 Peter Wolf's in York County in that time period, and 2 of them were married to Elizabeths! Mary Wolf married Philip Troup first, and Daniel Lemon second. I believe her to have died in the Millerstown area. Any researchers of these Wolfs? I need help!! (I've been to York Historical Society, and there file indicates they are just as confused as I am!)
