Belinda, I don't recognise any of your Woolf's, but I was told by an uncle my mother's brother that the Wolf's, Woolf's, Wolfe's in Rutherford County, NC came from SC. I have never been able to prove this but I am at a brick Wall on Jacob Woolf, b approx 1760's married to Mary Polly Deadman, Dedmon, b 1759 Patapsco, MD. They are my 4xgreatgrandparents. They had Jacob Wolf b 1794-98, d 1865who Married Nancey McEntire Thompson b 1798, d 1876 in Rutherford Cty, NC. They are my 3xgreatgrandparents. They had my 2xgreatrgrandparents: William Cathey Wolfe, who married Phoebe Lee, they lived in Cleveland Cty, NC. My greatgrandparents are: Nancy Ellen Wolfe and Doc Franklin Grigg, they also lived in Cleveland Cty, NC. He built the Rehobeth Methodist Church in Shelby, NC. They are buried there. My grandparents were Minnie "Ethel" Grigg and Raleigh Washington Fortune. They are also buried at Rehobeth Methodist Church in Shelby, NC. I do know her brother (Mary Polly's) who served in Rev War and named Richard Marcus (Mark) Dedmon, who married Hannah Bailey in Old Rowan Cty, NC after their daughter was born, another Mary Polly Dedmon, went to Greenville Sc, and maybe that is where the Woolf's, Wolf's, Wolfe's were. I don't know. They did go back to NC after about a year and lived in Rutherord Cty, NC. where both lived and died. If anyone recognises any of these people I appreciate any bits of info I can get. Thanks, Melanie Oates Malone
