The response was overwhelming and a little unexpected. It is so great to find that there are still people who enjoy stepping forward for a stranger. I will certainly pass this kindness on to those who contact me! Now, I now know that my Jacob Baker Wolf was the son of Samuel Wolf born about 1807 in PA and Regina Becker (Baker) born 1817 in PA. They were married Feb. 18, 1844 in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jonestown, Lebanon, PA. Samuel was the son of Johannes (John) Wolf born 4/15/1785 and Margaretta Unknown born March 31, 1783. I know of one other child of their's, David Wolf born March 21, 1838 in North Lebanon and who married Amelia Groh. Johannes and Margaretta no doubt had other children and one may have been Rose Wolf born about 1814 as she lived with Samuel at one time. Samuel and Regina Becker Wolf had 6 children, Rachel born abt 1848, died 1926 and never married; Samuel bo! rn abt 1850 died 1925 and appears to have never married and lived all of his life in Dauphin County; John B. Wolf born abt 1853 and died in 1937 in Peoria, Illinois and was the husband of Sarah Hankinson; my Jacob Becker (Baker) Wolf born Feb. 27, 1856 and died 1930 in California, he had married Emma Zimmerman of Lebanon County in Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio; William Wolf born January, 1858 in Dauphin County, and married a Savilla Unknown in about 1886; and Amos Wolf born abt 1861 and died at the age of 16 in 1877 in Dauphin County. I have also learned that Regina Becker, Samuel Wolf's wife, was the daughter of Friedrich (Frederick) Becker/Baker and this may have been the same Frederick Baker who married Catharina (Catherine) Eschelman/Eshelman. They had a daughter named Elizabeth born in 1817 and I am thinking that she may have in fact also been called Regina, but cannot prove that at this time. If anyone has information on who the parents of Johannes (John) Wol! f were I would love to hear from you. Again, thanks!
