Surnames: Wolf, Wolfe, Tillman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4JXBAIB/1331.1.1 Message Board Post: too bad that if they connect it is way to far back for me to know! the only thing I have to go on at the moment is the fact that in the 1880 census for Scott county MS, it has my George W Wolf as born in Mississippi and his father as born in North Carolina with mother's birthplace unknown. the 1900 census has George's as MS, his father's as NC and his mother's as MS but then the 1930 has all three birthplaces as MS. I just realized I'm missing a couple of censuses there in between. I just went and found his tombstone this past weekend and funny that he buried his wife with the spelling "Wolf" but then when they buried him they went with "Wolfe" you'd think the kids would at least want to keep the married couple's spelling consistent even if the kids went with either spelling!
