Have you checked all census records? I suppose obits didn't give any help? Death records? Did they list parents back then? County histories? Land records? Any court records you can find If you have done all this then go on and research every child. That's how I found a third great grandmother's surname-on ONE child's death certificate. If you can find Elizabeth's name that might help find where they married.
