Lots of leads and no proof of whether or not I'm on the right track. This is what I know so far and even some of this isn't proven. Christian Wolf(e) b abt 1750 m Rebecca Dunning b abt 1760 possibly in Connecticut. She is the daughter of David Dunning and Mehitable Collins (Sperry) May have been married in 1785 Children Truman Wolf(e) b 1789 m Mercy Perry. I know that they ended up in Walnut Ill. Amos Wolf(e) b 1799 m Rebecca Goudy (or Gowdy) in Clark Co Ohio in 1822. They ended up in Iowa and are buried in Decorah IA. Ok so here's my dilemma. I have been up and down the eastern coast looking for this Christian and Rebecca. The Dunnings are in CT and some in VT. I have a Rev. Pension abstract for Christian for a Bounty Land Warrant. Bounty Land was in Ohio. I have census listing Christian, Truman and Amos in Ohio. I found some info for a Christian who was a brother to the Wolf's in Washington County PA and it stated he went to Ohio. I have census listings for a Christian- 1790-Dauphin Co Pa 1800-Dauphin Co Pa 1810-Dauphin Co Pa 1820-Clark Co Ohio-listed next a Truman Misc. This census lists him with an Amos and Jesse but I have no date (this is when I didn't know what I was doing and don't remember where I got this from but it's for Olmstead Ohio Cuyahoga Co.) Amos is said to be born in Bennington Co. Vt. His mother's father died in same county. Christian Wolf's BLW paper says he served in Hazen's Regt. There is a Hazen's Memorial in Vermont. Have I confused you? I cannot figure out if these tie in or I'm looking at 2 individuals or what...also I cannot get any info regarding births because I am not sure what county to look in and since it's so far back I have to write the county clerk. The only birth certificate that's concrete is my grandfather's. I've been in this rut for 6 months on these people and I'm about to give up! Any info would be appreciated.
