I did find a Raymond Wolf and wife Alta M in the 1930 census in Detroit,Michingan. It showed Alta and both of her parents were born in Alabama. She was age 31 and he was listed as an "independent art critic".

But my original Wolf family from Germany had 8 children. So you could be a descendant of one of the siblings. I wrote a letter and sent it out to all the current Wolf families in the town I was researching. Maybe you could do that, I met many of my cousins that way.

My George Harter was born December 1, 1837. Since posting my original message, I learned that his parents were David Harter and Elizabeth Hollenbough/Hollenbaugh. Church connections include Stone Valley church in Northumberland County. I haven't been able to pinpoint Catherine Wolf's parentage. It's been a brick wall for me for some time now. George's last name appears to have gone through three spellings. Harter in the earlier 1800's, Heartter by the mid-1800's, and on their tombstone, it says Catherine and George Hatter. There were many Heartters in Porter Township, but it appears as though none were related. But thank you for replying. Tammy
