On the subject of St John's, I have a birth Certificate with place of birth as Pentreestill (I think) St John's Swansea. Next week it is our intention to travel down to South Wales to visit places I have found mentioned while doing the family tree. So if any one can tell me where about in Swansea St John's is I will be very grateful. Also mentioned in the census returns are I have a property mentioned as Rhosli, which may be in the hamlet of Parcel Ynysllwchwr or the village of Pentrebach. Do either of these places still exist or have they been swallowed up. All comments on these places are most welcome. Mary
Hi Mary Gregory Is it the "Gregory" name you are researching? I have Gregory in my line dating from a marriage in 1837/8. Maria Gregory b. 1821 dau of Daniel Gregory and Sarah had 5 brothers aas far as I have found out. Not much more info, but they were all christened at St Mary's in Swansea.
