    2. My details are sketchy at best, but my great-grandfathers' name was Evan Davies. I believe it was on that side of the family a Mary Lloyd married a man with the surname Devonald (thanks for the corrected spelling of the name). From the story that was handed down, it seems Mary's family felt she was marrying beneath her social status, and disowned her when she went ahead and married without the family's blessing. From then on, future generations always included the name Devonald when naming their children. My grandfather's name was Ernest James Devonald Davies, and his brothers and sisters all had Devonald somewhere in their name. My grandfather came to the United States when he was probably about 7 or 8 years of age. I have to double check his birth year, but it was somewhere between 1879 or 1880?
