Hi Heather With a little lateral thinking I have found a death announcement for William RAYNER in the local Swansea paper, the 'Cambrian' What I haven't done is check how many other William RAYNERs there were in Swansea in 1841. I hope it is the right one. The date is usually the newspaper publication date. Death could have been a few days before 16/10/1846 at High Street, Swansea, William Rayner, father of William Rayner, builder Here are some others that are apparently connected 7/3/1862 Lucy E Stafford, daughter of William Rayner, 6 Brunswick Street, Swansea 3/8/1866 Edgar David, 6months, son of F J Rayner , Castle Street 9/8/1867 John Alexander Virtue, 4 months, twin son of G G Rayner death 16/2/1870 Margaret wife of F J Rayner, age 31 death 16/6/1870 at Belvoir Place, Swansea, William Rayner, 65 death 12/5/ 1873 at Trafalgar Terrace, Arthur Hamilton, 10months, son of W R Rayner death 15/3/1882 at Belgrave Terrace, Swansea Martha Rayner, age 81, widow of William Rayner death 18/2/1882 at his father's house, Ingrave House, St Helens Road, William John Rayner age 32 and some that were presumably originally from Swansea 3/6/1890 James Rayner, at Batheaston, Somerset, age 75 death 28/7/1891 Susan DYCHE, daughter of the late William & Martha Rayner of Swansea, at St Albans 7/11/1896 at Putney, Mrs W R Rayner, widow, mother of Mrs D T Ladd, Mrs W Williams and Mrs J H Goldie Jeff acknowledgment to the Cambrian Indexing Project, Swansea Central Library > > I am searching for the burial of my ancestor William Raynor or Rayner > between 1845 and 1851. > > On the 1841 census William is living in the Gomerian Buildings in Swansea > aged 70 years living on independent means.
