Hi All I am new to the list as I have just discovered my links to Swansea, though I had suspicions for a while. My interests lay in the names LEYS(H)ON and BEAVAN from a marriage in Llansamlet in 1807. The groom was a surgeon in Llansamlet and they left Wales in about 1810. I have discovered the bride's father's Will. He was Thomas Leyson Esquire of Ystrad in the parish of Swansea County Glamorgan. He was quite a substantial landholder both in Glamorgan, Carmarthenshire and Surrey. I have been trying to find information about the history of Ystrad but with little luck so far.
