Hi my feeling is that it is the name of a house or smallholding/farm and that it should read " Borthdir bach", bach - being Welsh for small, borth - being a gate or gateway, and dir - being land ground or territory. So it is somthing like " small gateway to the land" hope this is of help. Regards John Best
