Since I am still getting between 4 to 10 virus messages per day, I assume some of you are still being plagued so think it is good to repeat this message from today's Rootsweb Review. Good info and links to bookmark. KLEZ IT, PLEASE. Educate yourself about viruses and worms because they do not go away. They are a constant threat and could destroy your valuable genealogical files. The current attack of the Klez worm, which forges the "from address" is fooling many RootsWeb Review readers, but this worm is NOT coming from RootsWeb's mailing lists or your editor. It is being sent to you privately by an infected computer (often without the owner's knowledge), with a stolen "From" e-mail address. It uses all sorts of subjects lines, which Klez also filches. Before you accuse someone of sending you the Klez worm, be sure you know how to read the e-mail header codes. http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/headersfull.html And, before you throw the proverbial stone, be sure your own computer is clean.
