    3. Searching for information about my 3X gr grandmother, Ruth DAVIES or DAVIS, born in Morriston in 1893 or 94. The information I have states that her parents were Ruth BEVAN and Evan DAVIS. I know nothing about her life until she married George WARD in 1819 in Merthyr Tydfil. George died in 1829 and in 1834 Ruth married Joseph BELLIS or BAYLIS. Ruth converted to the Mormon faith in 1845 and lived for sometime in the Tredegar area of Monmouthshire before going to America in 1866. She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah with many of her descendants until her death there in 1879. I would like to ask for suggestions on how to proceed to find information about Ruth's parents and her life in Morriston. Also would like names of researchers for hire in the Swansea area. Thank you. Judy

    2. mike.shermer
    3. Good morning or evening as the case may be.......... I am looking for the descendents of Thomas and Elizabeth Andrews who on the 1891 census lived at 7 Frederick Street, Newport, South Wales. They had 8 daughters and 2 sons:- Sara Ann age 20 Tillie 18 Jessie 16 Maud Mary 14 Mildred 12 Gertrude 10 Thomas 8 Ada Jane 4 Frederick 6 Their Father Thomas was a Berthing Master in Newport Docks, and Drowned New years eve 1891 falling off a ship in the docks - alledgedly after celebrating too enthusiastically. Gertrude was my Grandmother and married William Charles Renouf in December 1907. He and his parents lived at 127 Lewis Street, Newport, at that time. They had one daughter, Iris, who married my Father, Leonard Shermer in Newport in 1930. I remember as a child relatives coming to stay with my Grandmother in Devon - from the Swansea Area - there were two sisters who I believe were my cousins, and were very probably grand-daughters of one of Gertrude's sisters or brothers. I don't expect to find the surname of Lewis in this area as the family was nearly all daughters, unless Thomas Junior or Frederick moved there when they grew up -but possibly a family which can link back to Frederick Street. There was one Renouf in the phone directory at one time in the Swansea area - maybe a connection - but apparently they have moved. Any help would be appreciated Mike
