    2. Lyn Nunn
    3. Hi All I am new to the list as I have just discovered my links to Swansea, though I had suspicions for a while. My interests lay in the names LEYS(H)ON and BEAVAN from a marriage in Llansamlet in 1807. The groom was a surgeon in Llansamlet and they left Wales in about 1810. I have discovered the bride's father's Will. He was Thomas Leyson Esquire of Ystrad in the parish of Swansea County Glamorgan. He was quite a substantial landholder both in Glamorgan, Carmarthenshire and Surrey. I have been trying to find information about the history of Ystrad but with little luck so far. I have found reference to Ystradgynlais in the Swansea area - is this the same place? Any pointers would be most welcome. Lyn Nunn Brisbane Australia lyn@webexpress.net.au lnunn@optusnet.com.au

    3. Please, if you are subscribed to this list at work or at home and you have an automatic message that goes out when you are not in to tell someone who has sent you and email, that you are not in the office or home, unsub from the list before going away or don't join the list. Today, was the second time within a month were I have been hit with hundreds of email caught up with computers talking to computers. The first time I was away for a day and came home to over 1,000 bounce messages sent to me! What happens is the automatic messager, when they get a post from the list, sends out the "I am away from the office" message to the list. Rootsweb's computer then sends them "help email" because the message wasn't addressed properly. When the help message is sent, I get a copy of the "I am away from the office message". When the "help" message is received at the office, the messager sends another "I am away from the office message", then rootsweb send "help" and I get a copy..... This morning I just receive over 100 messages and I was away from the computer for only 2 hrs. I immediately unsubbed the person because I recognized what happened. The first time I thought it was a virus or something. I have put the subber on a reject list so he/she will not be able to sub again without going to me first and he/she will have to assure me, the automatic message answerer is shut off. Thanks for you cooperation. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, listowner http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002

    3. Hi Don I have checked both the 1841 and 1851 census for Glamorgan for your Michael Leary born 1831 but could not find him. I found a Michael Leary born 1835 in Swansea still living in Swansea in 1841 (marked as age 6 in census). The 1841 was usual marked up or down in ages depending on whether the person was over or under 5, 15, 25, 35 etc., (someone aged 3 would be marked up as 5.) If you need more on this particular Michael Leary let me know.
