    3. Hi Can't make any connections to Haverfordwest, but I am descended from an extensive Rowland(s) family in St. Davids. My earliest known Rowlands ancestors are: - 1. David ROWLAND who married Mary JOHN 10/11/1781 at St. Davids Cathedral, they lived at Treleddyd Fawr, St Davids (can anyone tell me where this is?). 2. Thomas ROWLAND (son of the above) bapt. 12/8/1787 at St Davids, m. 5/8/1812 St. Davids, Elizabeth PARDO, bapt. 15/6/1788 (daughter of David PARDO and Elizabeth WILLIAMS). 3. Children of Thomas ROWLAND and Elizabeth (all bapt St Davids to the best of my knowledge):- Sarah ROWLAND b. 1812 David ROWLAND b. 1816, m.(1) Anne DAVIES (1841), (2) May DAVID (1862) Mary ROWLAND b. 1817 James ROWLAND b. 1819, m Mary REES (~1850?) Thomas ROWLAND b. 1821, m. Margaret LEWIS (1846) Hannah ROWLAND b. 1823 Elizabeth ROWLAND b. 1827 Maria ROWLAND b. 1829 William ROWLAND b. 1831 All daughters apparently remaining spinsters (strange). I am descended from James and Mary. All this and more ROWLANDS, PARDO and JOHN (Mary Ann ROWLANDS daughter of Thomas above married Dan JOHN (~1885)) history was passed down to me as a paper chart and I've been unable to find the author (anyone out there recognise this?). Pleased to here from anyone with a connection / more information, Regards Mark Breeze mark@apiltree.screaming.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joanne Thomas" <journeymouse@yahoo.co.uk> To: <WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 02, 2005 9:28 PM Subject: [WLS-PEM] ROWLANDS of Pembroke and Haverfordwest [crossposting] > Hi again, > > Third and final post of the day, I promise! > > The William THOMAS mentioned in the previous posts married Catherine > ROWLANDS in Haverfordwest on 9th April 1837. 3. Dear Mark, Treleddyn, St. David's, is/was a double pile 17th. century house with a smuggler's tunnel. In the 18th. century it was the site of a Royal liaison with the lessee Mrs. Jordan.... according to Major Francis Jones' Historic Pemb. Houses book. In 1799 a Thomas Williams, owner of the Sloop "Phoebe" of Solva receives a mention...and apparently the Williams family lived there for quite a while. Whether this had any connection to your Elizabeth Williams, I don't know...but from your message it seems her husband's Rowland parents were the ones who lived there. A Simon Pardo in 1761 married Elinor Perkin at St. David's....a possible for parents of David Pardo, and there are two 1730's marriages if you are interested. 3. Dear Bettye Thank you for the location information and the other information which sounds as if it could be quite significant (there are tales of mariners in family folklore). I wonder can anyone confirm whether Treleddyn, St. David's is still there? I understand (courtesy of another PARDO researcher) that the Simon PARDO (bapt 28/9/1741) you refer to was the twin brotherof my ancestor David PARDO who married Elizabeth WILLIAMS (8/11/1783) Regards Mark Breeze ----- Original Message ----- From: "BJ & LC Kirkwood" <bjkirkwood@bigpond.com> To: "Mark Breeze" <apiltree@apiltree.screaming.net>; <WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2005 6:58 AM Subject: Re: [WLS-PEM] ROWLAND(S) of St. Davids > Dear Mark, > > Treleddyn, St. David's, is/was a double pile 17th. century house with a > smuggler's tunnel.
