Dear Karen, If Llandissilio is correct, and working from the information Gerry supplied, it is possible that William Evans' parents were Daniel Evans and Sarah Phillips who married in 1791 at Llandissilio....... purely on the hunch that the first son was named for William's father, though I note there was no little Sarah. There are other possibilities. If Esther Hall is perhaps Daniel's mother, following Pat's discovery, then it is possible that her parents were John Hall and Mary Thomas whose marriage was recorded in the Llandissilio Bishop's transcripts in 1803. There is a notation beside these names in the index, CRO CPR/9/5..which may refer to something at Carmarthen Records Office, though my index is a Pembrokeshire one. If you find that your Daniel matches the age of the one given by Gerry, for absolute proof it may be possible to obtain his birth certificate, or if he proves to be an 1837 birth, then, the certificate for one of his siblings. Likewise, Daniels' marriage certificate should show the name of his father and his father's occupation.
