John went to stay with her in 1887 for "a change of air" because of his sickness. ======================= Dear Kevin, I've picked out just two items from your long e-mail. 1. A marriage in May 1842 is wholly consistent with the FreeBMD entry for June 1842. The latter date indicates that the marriage record is entered in the registrar general's marriage registers covering the June quarter of 1842. The June quarter includes April, May and June. 2. "Melynarythan" is probably a corrupted spelling of Melincryddan (once spelt Melincrythan), an industrial area half a mile to the south west of the centre of Neath. But why anyone would move to the heavily industrialised town of Neath to improve their health is difficult to imagine. With its metal refineries and chemical works belching out their smoke and fumes, 19th century Neath must have been one of the least salubrious places in the whole of South Wales!
