    3. Gareth, Could you give us a weekly count (or monthly if that suits better) of the number subscribed to this list, so we can evaluate the worthiness of remaining? Subscribing to the digest-mode as another lister suggested is not an option for me; I've had enough problems with digest subscribers on other lists failing to post subjects, failure of enough of message responded to, etc. - it's been a real pain. Now since Rootsweb has begun posting the GenWeb board queries to some of the lists the situation has worsened - I reject the digest mode. I'd like to see the WLS-Pembrokeshire-L grow and remain a viable part of Rootsweb. Thanks for your consideration, With appreciation, Elida in SC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gareth" <W/gen@johngareth.freeserve.co.uk> To: <WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 21, 2000 5:52 PM Subject: Re: [WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE] A reminder > Hi Elida > I hope you don't mind my posting this back to the list , just in case I > have unintentionally given others the same wrong impression as well. > > As the administrator for the three lists involved I know that, as of > tonight, WLS-Pem has 46 subscribers whereas the Dyfed list has 432.[and of > course they don't all have Pem interests]. > A week or so ago, WLS-Pem only had about 25 subscribers, so it is growing > nicely. > > WLS-Pem certainly isn't a small branch of Dyfed-L, it will be whatever you, > the subscribers , make it. > I am on record on Dyfed-L as saying that I believe the new county based > lists will largely take over from Dyfed-L in due course, it may be sooner > than I thought. > > As I don't know whether there are subscribers to WLS-Pem that aren't fully > aware of the position I was pointing out that right now the greater size and > greater activity of the Dyfed list makes it more likely that you will get > advice/make contacts on Pem matters on it. > But it isn't a case of "instead of" but "as well as". > That may well change as WLS-Pem develops, I don't expect to post such a > message for much longer on this list. > > That's it, I hope that has "cleared the air" for you Elida . > > Gareth > List Administrator for Dyfed, CGN & PEM. > Lookup Exchange http://www.johngareth.freeserve.co.uk/lookup.html > Help Page http://www.johngareth.freeserve.co.uk/hicks.html
