    3. Hello Graham Can't find him in 1841 or 1851 at the moment. However here are two points to follow up:- 1) Marriage of John Laviers in the 3rd quarter of 1854 Bridgend district Ref 11a/582 (this is from FreeBMD site) This will give you his father's name and occupation. By the way you said you had him with his missus in 1881 - but the entry on the LDS CD shows hom as Marr but with only his children at home. Have you found a different entry on the actual Glam census? (Note: FreeBMD shows death Mary Laviers 1st quarter 1854 age 46 Bridgend district ref 11a/343) 2) Looking in 1861 there are two interesting families who could be ralated. Here are the two entries both in Merthyr Tydfil area Georgetown 43 Iron lane Henry Laviers HD M 58 Ironstone miner PEM Manorbier Margaret " WI M 51 PEM Lawrenny Thomas " SO U 21 PEM Penally George " SO 9 GLA Llangynog Garth 18 Park St James Laviers HD M 26 miner PEM Jane " WI M 25 Margaret " dau 3 John " son 10 mth Note: Henry Laviers married Margaret Upton in Manorbier on Oct 24 1829 That's all for now Pat In message <06b725616210335ICS0037@ics0037.ics.ntlworld.com>, robert.wil liams438@ntlworld.co.uk writes >Hello all.For a pal of mine,I'm doing this surname.Ive got a John LAVIERS aged >48 in the 1881 census, at Maesteg Glamorgan, with his missus and kids, all born >In >Maesteg. >In this census,John LAVIERS birthplace is listed as Manobier Pembs; >So can SKS please hopefully find him in 1851 aged 18,[if he wasnt telling >porkies in 1881?]with hopefully,His parents, and any other goodies still at >home? >Diolch yn fawr,or Ta Muchly. > >Cheers Graham > >Graham Williams.Glam;FHS;#551. >Of Canton,Cardiff. >"If at first you don't succeed?Try,Try,and Try again!" > >______________________________ -- Pat Powell
