Hancock" <hancock@glenlodge.free-online.co.uk> wrote: Hello, I am a newcomer to the Pembrokeshire list. My interest is in a HANCOCK family from Camrose. My Gt Grandfather, George Hancock (b.1851), was the son of Rebecca Hancock (b.1829), unmarried, who at the time of George's birth was living with her widowed mother, Hannah Hancock, at Pelcomb Bridge. An 8 year old grand-daughter of Hannah's, Hester Owen, was there at the same time. George was still with his grandmother in 1861, but I can find no further record of Rebecca in Wales or England. I think, but have not confirmed, that Hannah was the Hannah Harbet (?) (b. about 1790) who married Philip Hancock in Camrose in 1811. Philip died before 1841 (possibly Camrose, 1834). Besides Rebecca, other possible children of Philip and Hannah are Elizabeth (b.1825), James (b.1823), Mary (b.1822), Thomas (b.1815) , all at Camrose. I would value any help confirming this family and linking it to the other Hancocks of Camrose. I am particularly interested in what happened to Rebecca.
