Hello Maureen Looking at the 1841 census there are a couple of David Rowes of the right age - but this one is living on Caldy and fits a marriage to a Jane. Reg dist Tenby enum dist 12 Folio 5 page 4 David Rowe 23 Quarryman Y Jane " 23 Y Fanny " 1 Y Thomas " 1 mth Y Also living on Caldy in the 1841 census (incase you find a link when you get a marriage cert for David and Jane) is this family Folio 4 page 3 George Rowe 48 Quarryman Y George " 19 Quarryman Y Thomas " 16 " Y Jane " 50 Y Martha " 13 Y Note: George Rowe , Labourer married Jane Phillips in Carew on Dec 17 1814. 1851 census of Caldy shows:- Folio 120 page 4 schedule 11 George Rowe 60 PEM Carew Jane " 67 PEM Carew Folio 119 page 2 schedule 6 George Rowe 29 PEM Penally Jane Rowe 42 PEM Carew Eliza " 10 PEM Jeffreston These are the only Rowes on Caldy in the 1851 census. I only have an index so I can't tell if Jane aged 42 is the wife of George Do all the Rowe men marry wives called Jane????!!!! There is a Martha Rowe aged 23 born Caldy shown in Tenby (Folio 42 page 25 sched 102) possibly working there. No sign of David and Jane aged about 33 or children Fanny & Thomas This is an index for Pembroke area - covering pembroke , Tenby , Caldy Carew and other surrounding areas. Meanwhile - here's a puzzle there is a Fanny A Rowe aged 12 and Thomas Rowe aged 10 Living in Hill Lane , Haverfordwest in 1851 and shown as the dau and son of George Rowe a widower aged 50 JP and Surgeon born PEM Penally. These two children match the ones in the 1841 census and as the 1841 census didn't give relationships then we are just assuming they are the children of David and Jane. Do you have anything further on this? I see Thomas Rowe is still livng with his father George in Haverfordwest the 1881 census and there are other Thomas Rowes of a similar age so I expect Thomas and Frances in Haverfordwest in 1851 are just two similar childre to the one of David and Jane - so kep them in mind if you search for birth certificates. I haven't manaeged to find David & Jane in Pem in 1851 - I see David is alone in the 1881 census - can you give details from the other census in case they provide a clue.
