    3. Dear Graham, Lavers, is, as Megan states, the spelling given in Pemb. records. As your John Laviers would have been born at Manorbier around 1833, I presume he is the son of Henry LAVERS and Margaret Upton who married at Manorbier on 24/10/1829. In the 1813-37 marriages index there are five male Uptons who married....usually in the Narberth Hundred. It is possible Margaret came from there.....I have not checked. The Upton name does not appear in the Castlemartin Hundred records (where Manorbier records are to be found), but there are Lavers who married as under: Alban Laver 1724/5 (Pwllcrochan); James 1761(Manorbier); James 1795 (Manorbier); James 1798 (Pembroke St. Mary) and John 1762(Monkton); Ann 1800 (Cosheston); Elizabeth 1758 (Penally); Jane 1721(Pemb. St. Mary); Mary 1786 (Monkton); Sarah 1794 (Manorbier)...and there is one queried entry Lavers? Elizabeth 1747 (Pemb. St. Mary). The Manorbier entries seem your best bet.....unfortunately I can not supply the names of brides and grooms, but the parish register entries could be obtained from Haverfordwest Records Office.....if copies are purchased, you could possibly as well as finding partners, expand your horizons by seeing who acted as marriage witnesses. There appear to be no Laver/Lavier wills in the St. David's Probate index......but there may have been administrations.
