Hi David, >From Major Francis Jones "Historic Houses of Pembrokeshire and Their Families": LOVESTON, St. Twynells. This was a double piled farmstead about half a mile south of St. Twynells church; to the east is Merrion, to the west is Sampson Cross. For two centuries it was the home of gentry families including in 1545 Thomas Watkin. His wife was Joan Adams of Paterchurch and he had two daughters, co-heiresses, with her...Elizabeth who married Thomas Adams who lived at Loveston till his death in 1605. He left a son Thomas who died in 1626. The other co-heiress was Margaret who married in 1545 Griffith White of Henllan, who died in 1590 leaving a son, Thomas White of Loveston in 1604. In 1680 Mary White paid five hearth taxes which indicates a commodious structure. After the Whites came the Leach family. Henry Leach (1700-1787) was followed by his son Abraham Leach of Loveston, who also bought Corston and that became the family's chief residence. Afterward Loveston was let to farming tenants. Regards, Elaine.
