Hello Edwina, In Major Francis Jones yellow book for Pembrokeshire are listings for Charles. One is at Henllys, Llanrhian. In 1845 the Bishopric of St. Davids owned the property and it comprised 194 acres, tenanted by Thomas Roch. Later it was bought by the Charles family. It is now owned by Gwilym Charles. Torbant, Llanrhian, was owned in 1842 by the Revd. Richard Davies, Archdeacon of Brecon. In recent times it belonged to Captain Cecil Charles. Trewallter Lwyd, Mathry, was home in the late 19th century to Thomas Charles, father of Joseph John Charles who was father of Ethel Charles, wife of Major Francis Jones. In the Major's red book for Carmarthenshire there there are six listings for Charles. If you'd like this information, let me know. Regards, Elaine.
