Dear Marlena, Unfortunately you seem to have a double dose of the dreaded s's. Howell/Howells? Morgan/Morgans? We are at the mercy of the various scribes. I believe at the moment all you need to purchase is the Marriage Certificate of Thomas Howell/s and Sophia Morgan/s. You already have proof that this marriage was recorded in the March quarter of 1876. This should show their father's name in both cases, and his occupation, if living. You have very sensibly provided as much information as you can. May I offer a little of my cockeyed logic? From the 1881 census you have learned that Thomas and Sophia's eldest son was named David and his eldest daughter named Mary Ann. I believe Thomas Howell's parents were therefore likely to be David HOWELLS and Mary Wade who married at Mathry on 11/08/1835. Mathry is right next to Granston on the map and they probably married in the bride's parish. The birth of Thomas, as your records show, was recorded in the Sept. quarter of 1837. If your Sophia MORGANS is the one born at Ambleston to William (born about 1814) and Ann Morgans, then it is possible that William is a child born to Thomas MORGAN of Ambleston and Martha Price who married at Mathry on 18/02/1813. Another List member might be kind enough to look up the 1841 or 1851 census information for the families of David Howells and the above Thomas Morgan/s to prove or disprove my theories. It is quite likely, however, that William Morgan/s of Ambleston and his wife Ann were shown separately in the census with their 1 year old daughter Sarah. There were lots of MORGAN marriages in the earlier Ambleston records, but no Morgans....but two Morgans married at Haverfordwest who may fit your needs, if the other avenues fail. Bill is certainly correct....you need real confirmation, but, at this stage, the one certificate should put you on the right path.
