Dear Henry, In the pre-1813 marriage index for Rhos Hundred the marriage between William Walter and Mary George does appear against the year 1772 at Marloes. There is also a marriage at Marloes between Thomas Walter and Grace Evans in 1782. This may mean a family connection, or no connection whatsoever. I would suggest you purchase both these parish register entries from Haverfordwest Records Office.....parental names will not be shown, but you will get witness names and signatures......hopefully Thomas and William, if brothers, may have witnessed each other's marriage. Not that this will likely take you much further in your search. The abovementioned Walter males could be estimated born somewhere between 1742 and 1760. Marriages shown in Rhos Hundred for males of this surname in that timeframe are: David Walter 1745 m. Jane Moarce at Haverfordwest St, Thomas David Walter 1745 m. Jane Meares at Haverfordwest St. Thomas. Source given as Francis Green Vol.15 p.473. (This is likely to be the abovementioned marriage, and shown in Green's West Wales Historical Records) Henry Walter 1743 m. Margaret Brinn at Haverfordwest St. Mary Henry Walter 1760 m. Dorothy Price at Roch Perhaps the names William and Mary Walter gave to their children may give you clues as to a connection to one of these marriages.
