    3. I have received a certificate which gives the Royal Charley, Sardis, Burton as the address of Henry Thomas in 1899. Does anybody know if this was a pub and does it still exist? Many thanks Jane Ottawa

There certainly isn't one of that name in the South West Wales telephone book, but perhaps someone with local knowledge could help. There was no habitation with anything like that name in the 1891 census. A 39 year old Henry Thomas was living at Hill Mountain, near Sardis, in the 1891 census. Gerry Lewis
