A Google search failed to find anything specifically about the phrase 'Family History Network' used as the name of an organisation. I found a link to "InfoBase's Family History Network" but clicking on the link redirected me to Ancestry.com In the mail you received inviting you to sign up, was the exact phrase "Family History Network" used as the title of the service? Was a website URL quoted? My feeling is that your 'Family History Network' has no real connection with the LDS church. To the best of my knowledge, one only has to subscribe to the LDS Family Search website in order to use the Pedigree Resource File and share information through "e-mail collaboration lists". See www.familysearch.org/ Unless you obtain proof of the legitimacy of the 'Family History Network' my advice is to use your delete button! 3. Dear Listers, I have discovered the origin of the 'Family History Network' e-mail received by Martin Owen (see earlier correspondence copied below). The e-mail inviting Martin to subscribe was from Everton Publishers Inc. of Logan, Utah 84323-0368 USA. The company website describes the Family History Network thus: ---------------------- The Family History Network (FHN) is all about making connections. We can connect you with the people and organizations who are ready and able to assist you in your family history quest. From professionals, societies, authors and consultants to cousins-FHN puts a wealth of knowledge and experience at your fingertips. We are anxious to help you find your family! ---------------------- Subscription costs $49.95 per year. Further details are on the company website at http://old.everton.com/network/index.php The company has no apparent connection with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Having now viewed the Everton website, I see no reason to change my original advice to Martin to use his Delete button!
