Hi, I am tring to sort out the Morgan (s) who were born and Christened in Redberth around 1834. Lewis Morgan(s) married Rachel LEWIS ,of Laugharne born 1838 There seem to be two distinct families for which I can see no connection. Does anyone have knowledge of the MORGANS in Pembrokshire-- Particularly did they come from the South Wales Morgans or did they have very early roots 17th century back in West Wales. Are there any books or other resources that would help please? Does any Lister have an early census or Bishops transcript entry pre 1790 for MORGANS.? Hi Sue, got a bit excited when I saw the name Morgans, my connection with Morgans are through my G Grandmother Sophia Morgans born 1845 ? 1849 ?in Ambleston ST Dogwells 1851 Census. 1881 Census shows she is now living in Haycastle must have married in about 1878 to a Thomas Howell of Granston Dwelling: Tryllys y Cnwc Census Place: St Nicholas, Pembrokeshire Wales Source: FHL Film 1342306 Pro Ref RG11 Oiece 5424 Folio 94 Page 9 Thomas Howell m age 43 Granston Pembroke Sophia Howell ( formally Morgans ) age 32 Haycastle Pembroke David Howell age 4 Fishguard Pembroke William Howell age 3 Fishguard Pembroke Mary Ann Howell Age 8mth St Nicholas Pembroke James Morgan Howell my Grandfather born 8-1 1885 (meildy ) St Nicholas Fishguard no trace of above family on the 1891 Census, sorry I cannot help you but I thought I would post my message my knowledge of the Morgans family is nil hope I have not made a fool of myself, my Grandfather told me that his Mother died in childbirth ? if there is any connection out there with Sophia I would be grateful.
