    1. Re: [WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE] 1841 CENSUS
    2. Hi Joyce PRO Ref. HO107 Piece 1444 Book 7 Folio 16 Page 7 Fishguard District St. Dogwells Francis Roach, 45, Farmer, Y Martha Roach, 55, - , Y Margaret Roach, 22, - , Y Ann Roach, 20, - , Y David Roach, 15, - , Y NB Y = answer to question "Born in County?" There is no sign of a Martha Roach born about 1821. I can only presume that she married before the 18941 Census. I have checked the 1813-1837 Marriage Index for Dewisland which covers St. Dogwells parish in case she married as a minor but there is not trace. However the marriage of her parents is as follows 4 Nov 1814 Francis Roach = Martha Perry X NB X indicates she made her mark None of the above family appear on the 1992 IGI fiche although St. Dogwells Bishop's Transcripts are covered from 1799-1875. It is more than possible that they were nonconformists and no registers survive for the chapel they attended. It rather looks as though Martha, the first wife, died between 1841 and 1851 as the following appears in the 1851 Census PRO Ref. HO107 Piece 2480 Folio 263 Page 17 Schedule No 45 Fishguard District St. Dogwells Francis Roach, 59, born St. Dogwells Elizabeth Roach, 55, born Walton Ann Roach, 22, born St. Dogwells Happy hunting and good luck with your future researches Bye for now Joy
