Dear List, I'm back on the trail of my elusive Pembrokeshire ancestors: 1) William JENKINS married Maria WATTS in Haverfordwest in 1823. They moved to Tredegar, Mon. in about 1825/6 where their son James - my direct ancestor - was born. William was a shoemaker/cordwainer born in Haverfordwest in the early 1800s(according to the census) and Maria is said to have been born in Fishguard in the late 1790s although I have found no information about either of their births as yet - I thought that finding a Maria Watts would be easy compared to trying to identify a Mary Jones! 2) David MORRIS, born in 'Pembrokeshire' per the Monmouthshire 1851 census - no more detail is given - married Mary (nee MORRIS, b. 'Cardiganshire') between about 1825 and 1830. No suitable marriage of a David MORRIS to a Mary MORRIS has been found anywhere in Wales, nor do I appear to have much chance of finding their births sometime in the first decade of the 19th century with just their counties of birth. Any suggestions are therefore welcome. Best wishes James Phillips-Evans
