Dear Listers, I recently spoke to a Mrs Jessie Wagner from Tasmania (Australia) who is seeking help in tracing a LORD family originally from Pembrokeshire. Mrs Wagner is not on the Internet but can be contacted initially through me. Mrs Wagner says: --------------------- My ancestor Edward LORD was born 1781 in Pembrokeshire, son of Joseph LORD and Corbetta OWEN. Edward came to Tasmania with Collins in 1804 as a Lieutenant, via Victoria (Australia) in 1803. He married in Tasmania. I am interested in tracing his descendants -- his children were taken from Tasmania and educated in England. He also had children to Elizabeth STORER in Kent, England. Of his children, Corbetta LORD married a Major Wallace; Eliza married a MANSEL; Emma married Anguish [sic] DURANT. --------------------- If any lister researching a LORD family of Pembrokeshire recognises this family or is interested in helping, please contact me and I will put you in touch with Mrs Wagner in Tasmania. If this is the Joseph LORD who changed his name to OWEN (see http://www.accessgenealogy.com/surnames/owen/index.htm and follow a search for Joseph Lord), he and Corbetta OWEN are the 4 x g grandparents of my wife, Evelyn (neé NEWBATT), whose grandmother, Evelyn Marian OWEN, was the youngest daughter of Hugh Charles OWEN bt. and his 1st wife, Elizabeth (?).
