Hi All, I am hoping to find out more about my Harries ancestors from Pembroke but as it appears to be a very common name down there, I don't know how lucky I will be. My gggrandfather was William Harries. According to the information he gives on the 1881, 1891, 1901, census he was born in Dinas about 1842. His occupation was first a mariner then later a Ships pilot. I have just received his marriage certificate. It shows he married Eliza Davies in Swansea registry office in 1871. His father's name was John Harries, now deceased, who had also been a mariner. I wonder if someone has access to the 1851 census would they mind having a look to see if they can find the family for me. I've looked on the 1841 but can't find a John Harries in Dinas.
