I wonder whether the 7 year old William Harris in Dinas with a father John reference HO107/2481, Dinas, folio 38, page 22, schedule 108) is relevant?: Ann Harris, 24, born Dinas Ann Harris, 49, born Dinas James Harris, 2, born Dinas John Harris, 12, born Dinas John Harris, 49, born Dinas Margaret Harris, 10, born Dinas Thomas Harries, 16, born Dinas William Harries, 7, born Dinas Can someone with access to the 1851 census return confirm John's occupation. The following in the 1841 census index (HO107/1446/25, Newport, folio 40, page 12) seem to be at least two families but some of the people (*) match the above: *Anne Harris, 15 *Anne Harris, 35 [to 39] David Harris, 12 David Harris, 20 [to 24] *John Harris, 3 John Harris, 53, Mariner *Margaret Harris, 3mo. Maria Harris, 30 [to 34] Maria Harris, 60 [to 64] Maria Harris, 9 *Thomas Harris, 6 William Harris, 60 [to 64], Farmer Can someone with access to the 1841 census returns confirm the grouping? Perhaps John the mariner was at sea? This could possibly be their marriage: Newport, Feb 11 1826, by Licence John Harries, Dinas and Anne Harries Dinas and Newport are adjacent parishes. Gerry Lewis

    1. [WLS-PEM] Nevern parish

    3. Hello all This week's trivial information (one of an occasional series). Nevern is quite a large parish and is also a strange shape. I've just discovered that it is split up into four quarters. 1 Morfa quarter - north of the main Newport to Eglwyswrw road and between the coast and Bayvil parish. The village of Nevern and the parish church are in this quarter 2. Crugiau quarter - north of the main Newport to Eglwyswrw road and between Bayvil and Eglwyswrw parishes. 3. Trewern quarter - the northern part of that part of the parish south of the main Newport to Eglwyswrw road, but including Brynberian. 4. Cilgwyn quarter - the remaining southern part of the parish containing some of the highest parts of Pembrokeshire. Gerry Lewis
