    1. [WLS-PEM] Havard of Haverfordwest
    2. Victor Dougan
    3. If you have been following my trail of Wills to a brick wall, here is where I have hit - THOMAS HAVARD merchant of St Mary Haverfordwest who married DOROTHY ANDREW in Steynton on 3rd June 1762. Their son, also Thomas, was a soldier of Haverfordwest who died there in 1817. As Havard is not a particularly common name I am assuming that any Havards from Haverfordwest are probably mine! Bettye kindly gave me some details of Havard marriages from Haverfordwest and this is what I have found :- DAVID HAVARD of the parish of St Martin Haverfordwest, a Private man in the Carmarthenshire Militia, Taylor and MARY JONES of the same parish, spinster were married in the parish church on 12th January 1779 (by licence); DAVID HAVARD of the parish of St Martin Haverfordwest a Private Soldier in the Cardiganshire Militia and SARAH EVANS (?) of this parish, spinster were married in this church by Banns on 9th July 1798; HENRY HAVARD of the parish of St Thomas, Haverfordwest, Bachelor, a Private Soldier in the Carmarthenshire Militia and ESTHER EVANS of this parish, spinster were married in this church by Banns on 13th April 1801 As far as I know they are not siblings of my Thomas - I don't yet know who they are. Dare I assume (again) that my Havards are from another county? Could my Thomas jnr have also been in the Carmarthenshire/Cardiganshire Militia as I haven't been able to trace his regiment? All thoughts/advice gratefully received! Pat Dougan Belfast
