    3. Hullo all, I am trying to trace my ancestors in Pembrokeshire and hope that someone might be able to shed some light on the families I am looking for : James Phillips a blacksmith probably in Pembroke Dock, married to Elizabeth (Lewis?). living at 33,Lower Pennar. Saint Mary in 1883. Also on the 1841 census a John John and Martha John aged 45 living at New House ,Newport parish. Martha was born in Pembroke and John was born in Verwig, Cardigan. I do not know the area so any information about Saint Mary and Verwig would be very welcome. Cheers Joan.

    3. I have a James Phillips born about 1835 in Johnston, who appears in the 1851 census as a blacksmith's apprentice. I have information on some of his antecedents, but nothing more after 1851, Myra Heywood > Hullo all, > I am trying to trace my ancestors in Pembrokeshire and hope that someone might be able to shed some light on the families I am looking for : James Phillips a blacksmith probably in Pembroke > Dock, married to Elizabeth (Lewis?). living at 33,Lower Pennar. 3. Dear Joan, 1881 census gives James Phillips, Blacksmith, born Pembroke Dock aged 28, (i.e. born c. 1853) had a wife Ellen born at Bristol, aged 29.....son Edgar J. Phillips aged 6 was born Cardiff, Glam. You might find the marriage in Bristol, but if you purchased the child's birth cert. more information would be available. The Johns may have married in Cards. However, 3 John Johns married Marthas, between 1821 and 1837 in Pemb. index. Are any children listed ....allowing date estimates?
