    2. Lyn, As promised here are the details I have on the Roch family of Butter , although I am afraid it is not very much. From the 1841 Census ================= Butterhill George Roch aged 45, Independant, born Pembrokeshire Martha Roch, aged 25, NOT born Pembrokeshire William Roch, aged 40, Clergyman, born Pembrokeshire From the 1786 Land Tax Returns - St. Ishmaels ======================== Thomas Roch, esq., Owner and Occupier of Butterhill. Valued at £2. 10. 0d. Doctor George Roch, Owner and Occupier of Priests & Follards(?). Valued at £0.15.7 1/2d Deerland (neighbouring Butterhill). Owner Mr. Joseph Davies (my line), Occupier JOHN ROCH. Valued at 4s 8 1/4d. They are the only entries for the Roch family in the Land Tax Return for St. Ishmael's. NOTES ON BUTTERHILL ================== Butterhill mansion had been the home of the Roch family since at least 1607 till 1906. The Roch family had been friends and neighbours of the Davies family of neighbouring Gt. Hoaten farm and a George Roch and Nicholas Roch of Butterhill had been a witnesses t the Will of Dinah Davies (nee' Cornock and my line) in 1807. By 1901 Butter Hill had been leased to a farmer and was home to the Llewellin family. In 1737 Mr George Roch of Butter Hill was mentioned in the Will of his friend, Moses Davies of Philbeach, Marloes I will let you know if I come across any more info on the Roch family.
