I already know that my late aunt and uncle, Frank and Alice PENNEY, cremated at Narberth in 1975 and 1976, have entries in the Book of Remembrance. To test the on-line database, I first conducted a search for Alice PENNEY but much to my surprise, received a negative result. I then searched for and found Frank PENNEY. I eventually discovered that my Aunt Alice is entered with a misspelt surname, PENNY. So failure to find an individual could be for one of at least four reasons: 1. He or she was not cremated at Narberth. 2. He or she was cremated at Narberth but does not have an entry in the Book of Remembrance. 3. The entry in the Book of Remembrance is misspelt. 4. The name in the Book of Remembrance was incorrectly transcribed into the search index. Nevertheless, as Pat says, the facility is a useful one.
