    1. Re: Passengers from Milford
    2. I have just read the discussion between Barry Johnson, Pat Powell, Susan and others, regarding passenger ships to America. I realise that the point of the query was to try to find ancestors believed to have embarked at Milford Haven, and I am sorry I cannot help in that except to ask if it would have been possible that the ancestor had lived in Milford Haven and that may have been why Milford Haven was handed down in the family history. I can imagine it being said "So-and-so left Milford Haven for America ........" when that person had made the first part of the journey by rail to a port such as Liverpool. Then I saw that the ship "The City of Rome" was mentioned and there is a slender chance that I could help in another way as I have an original passenger list for the 124 second class passengers who sailed to America on the S.S. "City of Rome" which left Liverpool on Saturday, 22nd May, 1897. My grandmother left Carnarvon (so to speak!) on that ship which is how I come to be in possession of the list. If it is of any help I could look at the names and see if the person you are looking for is mentioned, but at the moment I do not know the name to look for. It is an outside chance, I know, as there were many sailings in those days, but at least it would be one to cross off. Best Wishes, Jan, Glam ps I have tried to send this email twice before but it keeps bouncing back. Hope it works this time.
