    3. Hello Megan, Cresselly is my neck of the woods and is part of Jefferstone Parish. (Jefferston, Jeffreston, Jeffreystone - I have seen all these spellings!) The village and church of Jefferston are about a mile or so away. Most of the property would have once belonged to the Cresselly Estate, owned by the Allen Family who live at Cresselly House. There is a large farm opposite the "Big House" which I believe is Cresselly Farm. Two rows of cottages, fronted by a green still appear to belong to the estate and are known as "The Green". There is a Primitive Chapel which is no longer in use and has been recently converted to a private dwelling. The grave stones still remaining at the front. The school closed last year and we now have a new one situated closer to Jefferston. Their are several other farms and four lodges belonging to the estate which have seen better days. As you know we have an excellent cricket team and the local pub. The Cresswell Arms sells a good pint or so I am told! Cresselly was once a busy place with a coalmine that dated back to Elizabethan times. The coal would have been shipped out from Cresswell Quay and lime for the fields brought in up the Cleddau Estuary. There is little trace of this industry now. The lanes are particularly pretty at this time of the year as primroses grow wild along the Pembrokeshire banks. Hope this gives you a rough idea, if you would like to know anything else or would like any pictures, please ask. Frances
