    3. Dear List Members I wonder if any other list members are researching (or may have researched) the name SKYRME in Pembrokeshire in the C19 and earlier? I have only started this angle of enquiry very recently, for the mother of a close friend (her father was a SKYRME, born in 1894). Her great grandfather was a James SKYRME born in Penally, Pembrokshire in about 1842 , and whose own father seems to have been a John SKYRME, whose wife's first name was Mary. James married a Martha RICHARDS, I assume sometime between 1860 and 1866. Jmes and Martha had several children between (at least!) 1865 and 1879, as shown below David John Skyrme - 1865 approx William James Skyrme - 23 June 1867 Edith Mary Skyrme - 1871 approx James Skyrme - 1876 approx Alice Jane Skyrme - 1879 approx Thanks to anyone who can help me look further back up the SKYRME line. N.B.: I am aware that other SKYRME-related material was previously published on the web by others, especially by a Clive Pinch, and I will file a separate posting about that to this list. 3. Dear Tony, I wonder, even though James Skyrme, wasn't born until about 1842, if perhaps his parents might have been the John SKYRM, Labourer, and Mary Griffiths who married at Penally 01/10/1835.....interestingly, another John SKYRM, Labourer married Phebe James of St. Mary's, Tenby, at Penally on 18/07/1835. I don't have the marriage records from 1837 to 1842. Unfortunately the Castlemartin Hundred (of which Penally is part) pre-1813 marriages index is divided into male and female sections...others may have the brides' names, I don't. However, James Skyrme married in 1809, a John Skyrme married in 1802 and William Skyrme in 1798.....all at Manorbier. Another Lister may have the required information, otherwise Haverfordwest Records Office could look up and provide parish register entry copies.
