Hello Everyone I wonder if someone could please tell me where I could purchase a book titled "Llanfyrnach Parish Lore", author E T Lewis, I believe that the William Evans mentioned in it is my GGgrandfather. Hope you can help Yvonne
Dear All, If anyone has access to the 1851 census for St. Brides I would really appreciate a look up for the following : Joseph THOMAS b. Llanstadwell, aged about 25, Ag Lab (1841). He is known to have lived in Marloes so I believe this would be where he might have been living there in 1851. I believe Marloes probably came under St. Brides for the census purposes. He was probably unmarried, so I would be interested to know other people living at the same address. If anyone can help it would be gratefully appreciated. Kind regards, Rose, Surrey

Heather. Hello there! - while I have nothing to add about your Harries family I can tell you that Glanymor is the name of house on the outskirts of Dinas. Its a rather impressive double fronted property on the side of the road if you have an OS map of the area - follow the main road out towards Newport - you will see a chapel marked (Gideon) - opposite the road down to Cwm yr Eglwys and further on Bridge Farm - well GlanYmor is on the opposite side of road just before you come to Bridge Farm. Currently owned my the Evans family. I think that there were Harries' at the near by Werndew - I shall have a dig in my MI list to see if it sheds more light. What properites are listed as neighbours!? Hope that's of help. Melanie (on a week off - so if i can help.....!!) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Many thanks to Mel, for helping me locate Glanymor. I also had a reply from Reg Davies who made the following point. (Apologies to experts who already knew this but it was new to me so I thought I'd share it.) 'Some of the census returns from Dinas Cross show that the enumerator did not record the data as he walked along the roads and lanes there. So the position of a house in the census may not give you its geographic location.' They knew how to make things difficult for us didn't they! Regards Heather
