Dear Sue, From the Pembrokeshire Marriage Index 1813-1837, Martha Whitta married Lewis Morgan on 9th December 1820. The parish is given as Redberth. Hope this helps. Rose Epsom

Yes, looks like we will have the Thomas family quite well documented! Looks like the Pembrokeshire Families will be quite a success. Rose
Dear All, I have found yet another new line of interest and that is the family of ROBERTS of Marloes. If anyone else is researching this family I would welcome exchanging information. Regards Rose Epsom
I recently noticed details of the following website on the GENUKI Family History News http://worldzone.net/social/wig/ The web site of the Welsh Interest group of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists. A useful little web site, this will have particular interest to those whose Welsh ancestors had migrated overseas. The web site contains information about the Society, and the Welsh Interest Group, but also lists of names from such things as Welsh born immigrants to New South Wales, New Zealand, Clwyd strays, and an awful lot more besides. I did not like the design that much, but the site was easy enough to use. The look of the pages just needed tidying up a little. Otherwise a good little site, and full of useful information. I thought it might be of interest to anyone who has an ancestor they suspect of having emigrated. Sadly Rob Thompson who has run the Newsletter for the past five years has decided to stop due to work commitments. Bye for now Joy
Hello Yvonne, I don't know where you could buy the book, but I have just glanced through the book and found two entries for a William Evans. The second one might be your connection: 'William Evans (1749 - 1818) lived for a time at Ietwen and was apprenticed as a weaver at Glandwr. In religious belief, a high Calvinist, he left Glandwr Church and with others of similar beliefs started the Congregational cause at Hebron where he remained as a minister though he did not abandon his craft as a weaver.' 'William Evans, born at Stambar, entered the teaching profession, becoming head-teacher of Treharris school. He had wide musical interests and ably served the Congregational church there. His brother John Evans ( - 1934) also entered the teaching profession, his sphere of labour being Cilfynydd, Glam. A poet, particularly fond of the sonnet form, he contributed articles in bilingual studies to the magazine, "Yr Athro." ' There are a couple more minor references. Hello again Joy. Thanks for that. We have now booked what sounds like a very pleasant cottage in Castelmorris. The contact number was passed on-list by Myra, so don't know if they deal through any of those glossy agencies or take direct bookings only, but the brochure looks fine and the price is competitive. Today, in fact, we received acknowledgement for our deposit payment, posted Sunday (no collection 'til Monday here in darkest Devon), so we're entirely impressed with the service so far. When we return - and if I remember - I'll post comments on-list, in case others may be covering the same ground. Hello Rose I see you have had the 1851 information already from Gerry. I am puzzled by the 1841 against your Joseph Thomas. I had a look at the area in 1841 and the only Joseph aged 15 was shown as an App shpiwright living with his parents and siblings. Should he be 15 in 1841 or 25 in 1841 and therefore 35 in 1851?? If you don't have the Joseph aged 15 and he is yours - let me know and I'll give you the full census details. Dear listers Still on the trail of ancestor STEPHEN OWEN born abt 1843 (died 1874) if anyone can find him anywhere(!) I'd be amazed - as I have not been able to trace him. He was a master mariner living in Lower Town, Fishguard in the late 1860's - before then ? who knows. Any help gratefully accepted - as this brick wall seems to be getting harder each day. Regards Melanie
Just like that, another link in my 5th cousin's tree, thanks to PEM families project and Allen Richards/Frances,... namely your Begelly family, David Morris, married Hannah Badham 1854. This Hannah could only be the youngest daughter of Thomas Badham (b.1809 ) and Elizabeth (Nash) according to my notes. Can you confirm for us? Rachel Boyd CT, USA
