    1. [WLS-CGN] Parish records Llangoedmore
    2. I wonder if there is any way someone could look on the parish records for Llangoedmore around 1867-69. I realise that this is after civil registration began but I am getting nowhere trying to find the birth of my ancestor. His name was Samuel Williams, and on his applications to be examined as a mariner he says he was born in Cardigan on 10/10/1870, in Cardigan, but Cardigan Register office have no record of his birth for that date. On Samuel's mariage cert in January 1888 he was "of age" making him 21+, and his birth year being 1867/66. There is a Samuel Williams born Llangoedmore on the 1881 census aged 11 which would fit nicely, and Cardigan RO have a Samuel Williams born August 1869 which is probably the same one. The other difficulty that I have is that Samuel said his father's name was David on his marriage cert but the 1869 entry shows father as John. I would welcome some advice as to what other listers think, and to see if there is anyone with access to the parish records for that time, would be willing to look him up for me. Samuel gave his permanent address as various addresses in Verwig whilst he was at sea, but his wife was living in Cardiff with their children. That is the link with Llangoedmore/Verwig which makes me almost believe that the 1869 entry is my Samuel, and the one on the 1881 census is the same, except that they both show Samuel T Williams, and there is no mention of a second name either on his papers as a mariner or on his marriage certificate Your comments will be most welcome. thanks in advance Ann
